This series consists of copies of letters sent. The records include letters sent from agents and Superintendents of Fort Totten Agency to government officials; other Indian agents and agencies; the Office of Indian Affairs; employees of the agency; local and state officials; commercial suppliers and contractors; tribal leaders; and Indians attached to the reservation. The records also include abstracts, financial records, guidelines, and reports. The records concern agency administrative matters at Fort Totten Agency, including supervision of health and welfare; procurement of equipment and supplies for Fort Totten Indian School; approval of travel by tribal members; and agency policy. The records also discuss burial customs and general conditions of Indians at the Agency.
